We participated as exhibitors of our good environmental practices for the protection of biodiversity in our palm operations in the presentation of the study "Evaluation of existing biodiversity in the oil palm plantation system in Guatemala", prepared by GREPALMA with the support of the Center of Environmental and Biodiversity Studies at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala (UVG). "At Grupo HAME we have a governance structure that has allowed us to establish procedures, plans and actions to systematize our environmental practices to protect biodiversity in our plantations. For example, I could mention that we have Forest Reserves in which we have carried out biological diversity monitoring programs and forest inventories," indicated Alejandro Chacón, Manager of Special Sustainability Projects. About the study: This study has the objective of evaluating the ecosystem services and biodiversity associated with the RSPO certified palm cultivation system in the South, Northeast Verapaces, Northeast Caribbean and North regions.
